Early Care Preschool is New York State Licensed and CPR-First Aid Certified by the New York City Department of Health

Early Care Preschool staff are trained professionals that meet state requirements and certification. All staff are required to maintain professional development courses annually to acquire health and safety skills as well as up-to-date strategies and learning methods for instruction.

Staff must maintain professional development in the following topics:

  • Principles of childhood development, including the appropriate supervision of children, meeting the needs of children enrolled in the program with physical or emotional challenges and behavior management and discipline
  • Safety and security procedures, including communication between parents and staff
  • Child abuse and maltreatment identification and prevention
  • Statutes and regulations pertaining to child care
  • Nutrition and health needs of children
  • Business record maintenance and management
  • Child program development
  • Statutes and regulations pertaining to child abuse and maltreatment
  • Education and information on the identification, diagnosis and
    prevention of shaken baby syndrome
